Digital Media Assistant

The FSU Libraries’ Digital Media team is looking for a part-time Digital Media Assistant. The assistant will ensure that audio/video content hosted on the Libraries’ YouTube, Research Repository (DigiNole), and Library Website meet accessibility and universal design standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough knowledge of video accessibility.
  • Run software to programmatically caption videos.
  • Edit video/audio transcripts for accuracy.
  • Assist with other audio or web accessibility projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Previous experience with video, audio, captioning, or digital tools (classwork can substitute for experience).
  • Interest in ensuring audio and video content is accessible to all library patrons, regardless of ability.
  • Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment. 
  • Strong desire to learn new skills.

Considerations

This is an OPS/temporary job.

10 hours per week. $14-$16 an hour depending on qualifications.

Video & Production Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Assists the GEOSET manager with overall video production support, including asset management and frontline service.
  • Organizes files and production assets in both Windows and MacOS for multiple users.
  • Performs regular intake and scheduling for patrons seeking to use GEOSET services including recording and live streaming.
  • Works alongside the GEOSET Manager to film, edit, and archive recordings and original videos.
  • Responsible for assisting the GEOSET manager with the inventorying, maintenance, and small-scale repair of GEOSET studio equipment.
  • Organizes existing studio equipment and assists the GEOSET manager with surplusing procedures and equipment end-of-life.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and/or Google Workspace
  • Desire to learn more about digital media, video editing, and recording studios.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with the following:

  • Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Adobe After Effects
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Open Broadcasting System (OBS)
  • Video recording and camera equipment
  • Video editing techniques and workflows
  • Social media content production

This is an OPS/temporary job.

Up to 25 hours per week at $15 an hour anticipated.
